The D.I.

Privacy

The D.I. is a comparison guide. We do not run customer accounts on this version of the site, and we do not sell your details.

What stays on your device

Saved bottles and the compare tray are stored in this browser (local storage). Clearing site data removes them. We do not use that list to email you. A small cookie remembers which designer bottle was last in the homepage window, so the next visit shows the next one in the rotation.

What a shop click does

Shop buttons hop through The D.I. so we can record the merchant, the bottle, and the time — in this browser — then send you to Amazon AU, eBay AU, Chemist Warehouse, Myer, City Perfume, or a brand shop. Those companies see the visit under their own privacy notices. How we earn from those hops is on Legal. We also send a hop count (retailer and merchant only, not your name) to visitor analytics so we can see which shops people actually open. Each hop carries a short click id on the shop URL so a later sale can be matched to that click.

When a hop becomes a sale

We do not take payment here. If a merchant or affiliate network later confirms a purchase from a tracked hop, they can ping us with the shop name and the amount — no name, email, or card details. That becomes a Sale count in visitor analytics. Amazon and eBay report those sales in their own associate dashboards; we do not see your basket there.

Visitor counts

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are read. It records anonymised page views — no advertising cookies, no cross-site profile, and no name or email. Vercel processes those counts under its own privacy notice. We do not sell the numbers.

Search

If you type a perfume that is not already in the index, the lookup may query public fragrance sources to find a picture and likely inspirations. Do not put personal information in the search box.
